How To Cut Out Image Using Adobe Photoshop Software Selection Tools – How To Create A Frame for a Photo
This is actually a fairly simple task — although many of the Photoshop authors make it seem more difficult than it really is. Using logic, the portion of the image to be popped out of the frame must be separated from the original image and raised to a higher level, in front of the frame, while leaving the original photo in tact. This technique works in any image software which has layers.
1. Cut out the image: Using any of the software’s selection tools you wish, make an accurate selection of the portion of the image you wish to pop.
In this example we used a combination of the Lasso and Magnetic Lasso to carve out the front of the car. Tip: to save time, cut only the part that will pop out.
Lift the image: Once your selection is accurate, and ready to go, duplicate it onto its own layer by using the “float” command (Cmd/J or Ctrl/J)
You can see the nose of the Jaguar is now on its own layer. (#1 in the layers palette) Note that it’s just the nose — no use to select more than you have to. It will match perfectly with the original image on the background layer and provide a seamless pop-out.
2. Create the Frame: Now, in a new layer, you can create the frame for the photo. Here we simply used a white background with the frame cut out. Layer #2 in the diagram.
At this point you can decorate or modify the frame any way you wish — textures, borders, etc.
Key Concept: Layer Sequencing. Always remember that the stacking order of your layers affects the final product. As you look at the file, you’ll understand that the layers were generated in that specific stack order to achieve the effect — even though they may not have been created in that order.
Also note that we did all the selection work on a COPY of the background, just in case we flubbed something up, or needed to go back and get more of the image. The “work” layer can be deleted, and the whole image flattened when complete.

Lapdesk Cooling Pad – Laptop Overheating Causes
Operating a laptop at very high temperatures leads to failed hardware components such as video cards, motherboards, memory modules, hard drives and more. The heat decreases the lifespan of your computer and can also be a fire hazard in extreme cases.
Hopefully you have read my article regarding laptop overheating symptoms and have gained a basic understanding of what to look out for if you suspect that your computer is running to hot. Just to make sure here is a short list of signs to look out for that will help you determine the difference between an overheating laptop and one that’s just a little hot.
- Internal cooling fan is constantly running.
- Computer struggling to perform basic tasks like opening a new browser window.
- Mysterious error messages popping up in random programs.
- Lines on your laptop screen, which is a sign your video card is overheating.
- System freezing or the dreaded Blue Screen of Death.
- The laptop abruptly shuts down on its own.
Now we are going to look at some of the possible causes of overheating to help you recognize a potential problem before it occurs.
Causes of Laptop Overheating
1. Use a Lapdesk Cooling Pad To Prevent Clogged Air Vents:
The most common cause of overheating is blocked air vents. These are the small grill areas usually found on the underside and at the sides of your laptop. When dust blocks the fans and air vents designed to cool your laptop, overheating results.
In a way, part of a computer works like vacuum cleaner; sucking air form one side and blowing it out from the other. Unfortunately they don’t come with filter bags to catch all the dust and debris. After just a few months of use the fans and heatsinks will eventually become coated with dust. If not cleaned, their effectiveness quickly drops and so overheating occurs.
On a standard home PC the CPU heatsink and fan are quite bigger and more powerful than on a laptop. There are also fans on the power supply, on the video card and other areas that can total up to six fans to make sure your PC stays cool. However laptops usually have just one or two smaller fans that have to do it all.
These one or two fans have a tough job ahead of them. Laptops tend to accumulate fine layers of dirt and dust around their air vents after months of use. A laptop needs a steady flow of fresh air in order to cool its internal components that produce a high amount of heat. These components include the processor, hard disk and random access memory (RAM). Clogged air vents prevent the cooling of these components.
2. Use a Lapdesk Cooling Pad To Prevent Malfunctioning Internal Fans:
A laptop uses at least one internal fan to cool its processor and other critical internal components. Most laptops use fans that work according to the workload of the processor. So, if the processor finds itself having to work harder, the fans will work faster to try to keep up with clearing the heat away. You will be able to hear the buzz made by a fan that suddenly changes pitch to match the processor’s heavy workload.
Therefore, a malfunctioning fan that is unable to respond to changes in processor workload will cause the processor and other components to overheat quickly. It also can degrade the performance of the operating system severely.
3. Improper Placement:
The placement of your laptop plays a significant role in determining whether or not it overheats. We buy laptops because they are portable giving us the freedom to use them wherever we want. We can work off our laps, on the floor, on the couch, in bed, outside, etc. The problem with this is there is a higher chance of blocking the air vents. Unlike above where the vents were blocked with dust here they may be blocked by the surface area you work from. Here is a definite area where a lapdesk cooling pad will come in handy.
If you use your laptop like a personal computer by accessing it from a fixed position, it should be in a place where it has a good supply of fresh air. Also, its air vents should not be blocked, and it should not be near other electronic components that also generate heat.
4. Software Problems:
Some laptops overheat because the software designed to protect the laptop, specifically by controlling the operation of cooling fans, does not work properly. In other cases, this is due to problems in the computer’s BIOS, and can be cured by upgrading to the most recent BIOS.
For example, you may have upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 only to find the system software designed to operate the fans no longer works properly.
Software programs also exist to help avoid laptop overheating. They work by checking the computer to locate any unnecessary applications that may be running which are adding a heavier load on the processor. Once located, in order to avoid the conditions that lead to heat build-up the software will automatically shut down or lower the power usage of these applications. They can be a useful tool to restoring your laptop to healthy functioning if a program is available for your laptop.
5. Use a Lapdesk Cooling Pad To Help With Poor Design:
Some laptop overheating is a result of poor design by the computer manufacturers. The CPUs and all other components are crammed into a tight little laptop space leaving very little room for air to circulate. Others simply have failed to provide ventilation and cooling systems appropriate for today’s CPU and video chips, which hold many more transistors than in the past and so generate more heat. Once again, this is a prime example of where a lapdesk cooling pad should be used.
6. Use a Lapdesk Cooling Pad To Work In A High Room Temperature:
This may be obvious but you would be surprised as to how much the temperature can rise in a laptop if it is used in a hot environment. Using a laptop inside a hot room or outside in the sun will cause it to overheat quickly. So, choose your work enviornment wisely.

has confirmed that _Red Dead Redemption_ is not coming to the PC. In a Q&A on
the company’s blog, Rockstar explains, “All we can say is that whenever it is
viable (technically, developmentally and business-wise) for us to release a
game for PC (or any other particular platform) – we will and we usually do;
unfortunately, that is just not the case 100% of the time for all platforms.”
The post adds, “To PC gamers, we hope that between the _Grand Theft Auto_
titles, and the forthcoming _L.A. Noire_ and _Max Payne 3_, you’ll have plenty
of great Rockstar action to enjoy.” Just, you know, no cowboy action. Which is

A Word About Wifi or Wi-fi Technology
WiFi is the other name for wireless internet or wireless network, this name is mostly used by none technical users who just knows how to access internet wirelessly, they know pretty much nothing beyond that. Wifi later developed properly and than eventually lunched for public use in USA in 90’s, gradually wifi become standards for most of the computer communications in countless organizations around the world.
Wifi uses all the networks referring to any type of 802.11 network standards which is set by IEEE. IEEE is short form of Institute of electric and electronic engineering. There are lots of enhancements made in standards of 802.11 and 802.11a, 802.11b and other dual networks. The latest standard of 802.11 family is 802.11y. Other known standards are 802.16, these are the standards for upcoming technology known to be WiMax. There is one more known set of standards for Ethernet it is known to be IEEE 802.3.
Growth of Wifi networks is still on going world wide this huge growth raises security issues. Wifi is the most widely used network world wide and many organizations transfer their sensitive data using Wireless networks. Increased use of Wireless network increases potentially risks of the security of the users or organization. Wireless network carries data of every type, that can be normal data in bits of information or it can encrypted or even highly sensitive. WiFi security mechanism insures the certain level of data integrity and confidentiality just as wired network provides. However if proper security measures are not adopted properly intruders can attack the network and can cause major damage to not only network but privacy of users also.
There was a time when cables were used to network many computers together. Hardware like routers, hubs, switches etc were required for communication between computers, but Wifi brought high tech change in communication of computers by providing wireless connectivity features. It just keeps things very simple without much hassle and networks can be made far more easily. No wires are required. Wireless network keeps environment very neat and clean. There are many other features of Wireless LANs for example high speed connectivity. Wifi provides high speed connectivity and faster communication where cables are not feasible to install for example in remote areas. The list of the Wifi features is long some other major features included Site survey, enterprise grade equipment, Scalable systems, VPN Compatibility, flexible authentication methods, Guest satisfaction, End user mobility and easy access through Hotspots.
WiFi supports two different types of modes; they are known to be infrastructure and the other one is ad hoc. In Ad hoc Wireless connections can be made without central device called router or access point. Most network administrators prefer ad hoc over infrastructure mode. Ad hoc how ever have issues also. Wifi devices connected using Ad hoc mode offers less security against unauthorized users. Ad hoc mode configured devices cannot disable SSID broadcast in contrast to infrastructure mode, this brings hackers into play, and using ad hoc mode it is not very difficult to prevail into the wireless network. There are two major differences between these two modes that is the rate at which they transfer data. Wife network standard 802.11g requires Ad hoc mode of communication to support 11Mbps bandwidth in contrast to it 54Mbps data transfer is supported using infrastructure mode. Hence Ad hoc mode is considered much slower than Infrastructure mode.

In this modern era every one wants every thing wireless, Wifi belongs to wireless technology family. There are so many other wireless technologies which have evolved around the time and Wifi is now taken for granted and world is now talking about much advanced and enhanced wireless network known to be WiMax. WiMax beats Wifi technology on many bases which includes Speed at which data rate is transferred, range with which connection is made and so much more. Now we have to see in how much time WiMax will take over WiFi, and which technology will eventually take over WiMax. One thing is for sure latest technologies in wireless technology will keep coming and will keep getting over looked by new ones.

Looking for on line learning/or teacher-recc software for 4th-6th grade math/reading to supplement schoolwork.?
I need a good online/software program to help my daugher review grade 4-6th concepts in math and reading. I did not want to spend $$$ on a Kaplan or Sylvan course. Do any teachers have reccomendations for their students to help with schoolwork? Thanks for your help.
What is your daughter’s math textbook that she uses in class? A lot of them offer extra support online for free-worksheets, reviews, and sometimes even supplemental lessons. If her textbook provides this, her math teacher should provide her with a username and password. I’m not a math teacher, but I know that this was an option for students at my last school. Look at her textbook to see if this is an option or email her teacher.
Another option is to find a local teacher store-the kind that sells supplies and equipment for teachers. Inside you can find workbooks that teachers use in the classroom, but which may provide you with some options. Most are reasonably priced. You would also be surprised with what you can find in the local book store under the Education section.

as we progress through our life,owing to certain circumstances in life our software either gets corrupt due to viruses that corrupt our programmed way of thinking or gets powered by the new updates which helps to deal with new demands
People may even have the same type of brain(hardware) but a different mind(software)

Before I say anything, though, let me just say in response to those who are arguing that our experiences create new neural connections in the brain, and therefore the connection between mind and brain is stronger than the connection between software and hardware: let me just point out that software does, in fact, alter hardware physically . Every time your computer writes to the hard drive, such physical alterations are taking place. Furthermore, software creates new connections in the hardware itself, just like experiences create new neural connections in the brain. That a computer can flush those connections and rewrite them with new ones much more quickly than the human brain can is another issue . . . but the basic principle is the same. Right at this very instant, to do what your computer is doing requires a unique set of changes in the hardware, in the memory, in the cpu, in the video card, etc. Whether these changes are easily rewritten or not is a significant difference between the brain and computer hardware, but the principle of the software/mind causing changes in the hardware/brain is essentially the same, at least from a philosophical point of view.
Software is nonphysical. It does not exist physically (except as changes in the hardware). You cannot touch it or smell it or taste it (you can do those things with the DVD the software comes stored on, but the DVD is hardware). In exactly the same way, the mind does not exist physically (except as changes in the brain).
The analogy is sound. And it raises some important questions. Most importantly, with regard to the issue of whether the mind can be reduced to brain.
Certain scientists today seem fond of showing how by making changes to the brain they can induce certain changes in the mind. Is that really any great surprise? If you make changes to the hardware of your computer, the software will be affected. In the end, everything you see and can do on your computer is being produced by the hardware, so how could you not expect for certain alterations to the hardware to not be reflected in what you see and can do with your computer? Likewise, everything that is seen in the mind is being produced by the brain (despite the fact that it is the mind that ultimately guides the brain, just as software guides the hardware). So it should be obvious that changes to the brain may and can affect the mind.
But despite this being true, no one assumes that software is reducible to hardware, the way so many philosophers seem to believe mind is reducible to brain. Indeed, while software always requires hardware to exist, if it were reducible to hardware then you wouldn’t be able to go out and buy a new copy of Windows 7 to replace your version of Windows XP, you would need to buy a whole new set of hardware.
Software, in a sense, transcends hardware . . . which is why the same set of software can be placed on all kinds of hardware mediums, whether it be a DVD, a hard drive, a MP3 player, or streamed through data networks. Software is not tied to any particular piece of hardware . . . and that should make us pause when it comes to the mind/brain issue. Because it strongly suggests that mind inherently transcends brain, just like software inherently transcends hardware. And just because right now the tie between mind and brain is mandatory due to a lack of alternative mediums or a way of transferring the information . . . in principle it need not be, and one day, perhaps, won’t be. It also raises interesting questions regarding the possibility of life after death.
